Attractions in Franklin, Indiana

Downtown Franklin, IndianaFranklin, Indiana is a suburb just twenty minutes south of Indianapolis. The many attractions in the city of Franklin provide fun, family time, and fitness to residents and visitors alike. Some of the other nearby towns, also satellites of Indy, are: Amity, Bargersville, Whiteland, New Whiteland and Edinburgh.

Below is a list of Franklin attractions, with brief descriptions of each.

The front doors of the Cultural Arts and Recreation Center in Franklin, Indiana Cultural Arts and Recreation Center (CARC) – This is where it’s all at, as far as activities in Franklin are concerned. With some 30,000 square feet containing ample exercise and fitness equipment, a complete gymnasium, a racquetball court, a climbing wall, a running and walking track, showers and lockers and a theater area, everybody ends up at the CARC at one time or another.
Beeson Hall in Franklin, Indiana's Cultural Arts and Recreation Center Beeson Hall – This lovely space, inside the Cultural Arts and Recreation Center, is what the community rents for Franklin events such as wedding receptions and corporate meetings.
The Easter Bonnet contest at the Franklin Senior Center in Franklin, Indiana Franklin Senior Center – The Franklin Parks and Recreation Departmen maintains this space for seniors in the city. The center offers activities, games, special events, a daily hot lunch and even van pickup for locals.
The Historic Greenway Trail in Franklin, Indiana Historic Greenway Trail – Hit this walking trail for a real taste of authentic Indiana. There are historic, nostalgic and beautiful sights all along the way.

The Blue Heron Park in Franklin, Indiana is the site for the Blue Heron Challenge Course Blue Heron Challenge Course – Professional facilitators and guides run full-day or half-day adventure challenges for groups. It consists of 22 “elements” that present different challenges to train individuals to work together to solve problems skillfully and compatibly.
The Johnson County Museum of History in Franklin, Indiana Franklin Town Square – Franklin’s Town Square features the Johnson County Courthouse, a magnificent, historic building; the Johnson County Museum of History, the stately erstwhile Masonic Temple building; and the Artcraft Theatre, where people gather downtown for classic movies and art deco nostalgia.
