Art in the pretty town of Franklin, Indiana is not, in general, a whirlpool of activity. The history of Franklin, Indiana, a major suburb just south of Indianapolis, includes many success stories, but the community as a whole depends on the busy Indiana state capital city of Indy to nourish its artistic side.
Fortunately, a short drive northward will give Franklin residents access to a seemingly unending source of Indianapolis art galleries, Indianapolis museums and other artists in Indianapolis to help feed the muse.
And even closer to home in Greenwood, Indiana, less than ten miles north of Franklin, artists can join the Southside Arts League to enjoy workshops and shows, along with the conviviality of other like-minded creative people.
